About

SPOON:

Spoon, Austin’s most esteemed rock ambassadors, have released ten albums to date including a string of five straight top 10 records: Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga (2007), Transference (2010), They Want My Soul (2014), Hot Thoughts (2017), and Lucifer on the Sofa (2022).

Lucifer on the Sofa earned the band its first-ever GRAMMY nomination (Best Rock Album) and was praised by Rolling Stone as “The best thing they’ve ever done.”

Hailed by TIME as “one of the greatest American rock bands”, Spoon topped Metacritic’s chart as the single most critically acclaimed band of the aughts.

In 2019, Spoon released Everything Hits At Once: The Best of Spoon, which was praised by NPR as a “convincing argument for Spoon being one of their era’s most distinctive and excellent rock bands.” That same year, Fender released the Britt Daniel Signature Telecaster Thinline as part of their artist signature electric guitar series – highlighting the enduring influence of Daniel’s precision-punk style that has helped fuel Spoon to become what the Guardian calls ‘one of the finest bands of their generation.’

PHANTOGRAM:

Lauded as an experimental and alternative band and one that’s never been married to a particular genre, Phantogram – comprised of lifelong friends Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel – have continued to change the zeitgeist for almost a decade by consistently challenging it with their signature blend of hard-hitting beats, guitar driven dark psychedelia and electronic pop. Since the arrival of 2010’s debut release, Eyelid Movies, the duo has amassed over a billion streams, achieved one platinum-certified single, two gold-certified singles, collaborated with legends such as Tom Morello, Billy Corgan, The Flaming Lips and Miley Cyrus, partnered with Big Boi of Outkast to form supergroup Big Grams, headlined sold out shows worldwide, become a festival staple and toured with artists including Arcade Fire, The xx, Muse, M83, alt-J and more.

With major campaigns for Apple TV+, Peloton and Apple Watch, and additional placement in multiple TV shows, the band’s reach has never been so wide

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY: “Everything about the Phantogram show was awesome…the new songs, the energy, the lights, the encore! They really showed their love and appreciation for their fans.” “Phantogram rocked it. They packed the house and had awesome energy levels! Their sound is really their own and the vocals from both of artists were impressive.” “Unreal. Phantogram brought so much energy, had an incredible light setup, and played an incredible set.”

A GIANT DOG:

Sabrina Ellis and Andrew Cashen of A Giant Dog have been making music together since high school. The two reconvened in Austin and started A Giant Dog (2008). Coming of age together, the writing duo communicates with near telepathy.

A Giant Dog became synonymous with fierce, volatile performance.  They became known locally for their wild audience, trust-falling off the stage, onto each other, leaving the club in shambles, and doing it again at the after-party. A band born underground, and thriving underground, the high-impact outfit grew a following who prefer their music intense, and unknown.

When A Giant Dog signed with Merge, the monster saw a bit of daylight. Pitchfork reviewed their 2016 album Pile at 8.2, stating, “Every track is a similar mix of certain danger and uncertain asylum (Pat Healy).”

Austin Chronicle’s Kevin Curtin hailed, “…anthems of restless spirits who drink love and life from the same red plastic cup.”

The subsequent years would be spent in a flurry of national and international touring and the release of their albums Fight, Bone, Pile, and Toy.  In 2023 AGD proudly released their 5th album, Bite.
